Façade Improvement Program
Edenton’s Main Street Program is offering an exciting program to stimulate downtown building improvements and give a helping hand financially. The Destination Downtown Facade Improvement Program is incentives based initiative to encourage the renovation of building facades and preserve the unique architectural character of historic Edenton’s downtown commercial district. This program will provide downtown property and business owners an opportunity to receive matching grant funding to help offset the cost of facade improvements and exterior renovations. Any building or business owner (with authorization from the building owner) in Edenton’s downtown district is eligible to apply for funding. Facade Grants will be administered through Destination Downtown’s Design Committee. Examples of eligible projects include: sign replacements, door and roof repair, removal of false fronts, canvas awning installation, historic reconstructions and structural repair.
